Boyukaga Mammad Huseyn oglu Semedov (1932-1996) was born on November 5th in Baku. In 1955, he graduated from the Geological Exploration Faculty of the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (now known as the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University), specializing in mountain and mining engineering-hydrogeology.
From 1955 until his passing, Semedov held various key roles within the Azerbaijan Geological Administration, serv
ing as a geologist, hydrogeologist, and chief geologist in hydrogeological expeditions. He also assumed positions such as chief engineer and department head within the central apparatus.
In 1965-1966, Semedov was appointed as a hydrogeological engineer in the Republic of Yemen. His invaluable contributions to the field of hydrogeology were recognized with prestigious accolades, including the "Badge of Honor for Geological Exploration," along with several medals and honorary decrees.
